High school teammate of fellow Irish signee Manti Te’o, Toma was named Hawaii’s Co-Offensive Player of the Year as a senior and helped Punahou to its first-ever state title. Played in the Hawaii Prep Classic and the Under Armour All-American Game, where he won the contest for best hands. Led the state with 1,393 receiving yards and 15 touchdowns as a senior after catching 35 balls for 836 yards and 13 touchdowns as a junior.
