There must have been a potato famine or something.
No limerick for game one but just imagine some coy usage of ‘Boiler Up.’

The rain came this day to South Bend,
The joy of the skunkbears will end,
When Kelly, Crist and Floyd
Let the bombs be deployed
Screw you Michigan- you suck.
Michigan State
We travel tonight to Sparta.
Walls, Blanton, Gray and Motta
Will shut down the pass,
Shatter the run like glass.
Leaving Teo to destroy a la carta
Have you ever been to East Lansing?
It’s certainly far from entrancing…
There’s nothing to do

But tonight, a jig we’ll be dancing
Stanford
From Stanford- here comes the tree.
Irish fans let out a "WHOOP-ee."
The Irish defense is limber.
Push your Luck, they cry "Timber!"
Rejecting Harbaugh to the land of the hippie.
Boston College
I hope today we will win
Murphy’s Law is about to kick in
Our lads can still play
We will shout out, hooray!
As BC takes one on the chin
Pittsburgh
From the stadium rises a shout.
The momentum is ours, no doubt.
The score will leave abash,
the coach with the mustache.
The Irish over Pitt in a rout!
Western Michigan
Western Michigan (sucks) comes in this game,
where nobody knows their name.
The Irish are sore,
but when they post the score
The W goes with Notre Dame
Navy
The Irish in the Meadow for a goat,
who will soon serve us proud on a boat.
But the mission today
is to make the Middies pay,
as we shove Wood right down their throat.
Tulsa
WIth heavy hearts we enter this game,
our loss makes it not seem the same.
For Declan the lads play,
while the rest of us pray,
in the grotto his memory in flame.
Utah
It’s time to salvage the season,
going to a bowl be the reason.
So bring on the Utes
And as for the recruits
at least South Bend isn’t freezin’
Army
The subway alumni rejoice
