Colin McGovern (New Lenox (Ill) Lincoln Way West) was relieved to have the recruiting process over when he committed to Notre Dame in late March.
The 6-foot-5, 280-pound lineman chose Notre Dame over offers from Michigan, Tennessee, Wisconsin, West Virginia, Northwestern, Iowa, Illinois, Indiana, Ohio State, Michigan State, Purdue, Vanderbilt and Boston College among others.
McGovern felt that he could focus on things better with recruiting now in the rearview mirror.
