As the unofficial deputy recruiting coordinator for Notre Dame’s 2013 recruiting class, there was no way James Onwualu was going to miss a chance to get back to South Bend this week.
Several verbal commitments, includin Onwualu, and at least one uncommitted prospect will be getting to South Bend on Thursday.
Cornerback prospect Mackensie Alexander is scheduled to get to South Bend Wednesday while recent five-star linebacker commit Jaylon Smith will arrive on campus Friday.
Tight end commit Mike Heuerman and linebacker prospect Alex Anzalone were the initial organizers of the trip, but it didn’t take long for Onwualu to have a hand in planning things.
