When Taylor Decker (Butler/Vandalia, Ohio) committed to Notre Dame in March, he knew he’d found the school of his dreams.
Now, the 6-foot-8, 310-pound offensive tackle, is just over six months away from enrolling at Notre Dame. But at this time of year, it is common for opposing coaches to try and poach another schools verbal commitments.
Message boards are also starting to fly with rumors that Ohio State may try to poach Decker.
“Ohio State stopped in, but I didn’t even talk to them,” he said. “My coach told them that I’m committed to Notre Dame and no thanks. They said if you change your mind let us know.”
Decker made it very clear where he intends to go for college.
“I’m committed to Notre Dame, that’s the school I want to go to,” he explained. “I’m not looking to hear from any other schools, I’m happy with where I’m at right now. It’s crazy how fast stuff can spread over the Internet. I’ve never once thought about taking other visits. The staff knows they don’t even have to recruit me anymore, that’s how solid I am.
