The 2012 NFL Draft is complete. All told, four Notre Dame players were selected in the three day televised extravaganza. After wide receiver Michael Floyd (13th overall to the Arizona Cardinals) and safety Harrison Smith (29th overall to the Minnesota Vikings) were each nabbed in the first round Thursday night, Robert Blanton and Darius Fleming were both selected in the fifth round on Saturday.
Blanton will join Smith in Minnesota after going with the 139th overall pick to the Vikings, while Fleming is headed to the San Francisco 49ers with the 165th overall selection.
Blanton started all 13 games for the Fighting Irish as a senior last fall. He tallied career highs with 70 tackles and eight tackles for loss, one sack, two interceptions, six pass breakups and one fumble recovery. He received the inaugural Notre Dame Back of the Year as the top Irish defensive back in 2011.
